HARBINGER RAISES $160 MILLION IN SERIES C FUNDING CO-LED BY FEDEX; FEDEX ORDERS 53 ELECTRIC TRUCKS
Harbinger, the American maker of medium-duty electric and hybrid work trucks, announced a $160 million Series C funding round co-led by FedEx, Capricorn’s Technology Impact Fund and THOR Industries. The round brings Harbinger’s total funding to $358 million.
At the same time, FedEx placed an initial order for 53 Harbinger electric vehicles, a mix of Class 5 and Class 6 models.
What the funding supports:
- Scaling production of Harbinger’s proprietary electric platform
- Continued in-house, vertically integrated manufacturing in Garden Grove, California
Other investors in the round include Ridgeline, Tiger Global and Leitmotif, along with several venture capital firms.
For fleets in the Northeast, it’s another sign that Harbinger’s platform is ready for large-scale commercial work. Hendrickson Fleet Solutions offers Harbinger electric and plug-in hybrid chassis, along with step van, box truck and E-Van bodies, plus service from three New York locations.
